FAQ
What is PlanetBid?
PlanetBid is an online auction that offers users new genuine products with amazing discounts.
How do PlanetBid auctions work?
The starting price of all auctions is $0.00 with NO RESERVE.
Why is time added to the auction when bid is placed?
To let other interested users bid as well. Our auctions simulate a real brick-and-mortar auction house. Going, going….gone!
What makes PlanetBid different from other auction sites?
In all PlanetBid auctions 10% of the final price goes to a charity of the winner’s choice.
Are all the items you offer new?
Yes, all items are brand new with a full manufacturer’s warranty.
How can you give items away at such low prices?
There is a small fee for placing a bid. This allows us to offer you products at heavily discounted prices. Each bid you purchase goes towards the cost of the item.
How much is the shipping and handling fee?
Click on the item you are interested in on the Planet Bid home page and the delivery info together with the product description will be displayed.
Sounds good, how can I participate?
First you must register. You will receive free bids apon registering. Then you simply choose an auction, bid and win!
I ran out of the bids I received when registering, how can I get more bids?
You can earn more free bids for referring your friends. You can also buy bid credits in “bid packages”.
I pressed bid at the very last second but my bid didnt go through. Why?
Due to internet lag time or your computer speed your bid may not register in time. Bidding at the very last second carries this inherant risk
Can I raise the price more than the amount specified?
No. This raise ensures that the winning bid is the lowest price possible.
Can I bid on the same auction more than once?
There are no limits on how many bids you can place on an auction.
How do I win?
If your registered name is showing when auction countdown timer hits 00:00:00, you win.
I just won an auction. What now?
Congratulations! You can pay for the item on the 'My Account' page. We will also contact you via email notifying you of your win and the next steps for you to take to claim your product.
When will I receive the items?
The items are shipped within 14 days.
Where are deliveries made?
PlanetBid currently has suppliers in following countries: Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, France, China, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore and the United States.
In order to receive a won item the user has to provide a shipping address in one of the countries listed above.
Where there are different versions of products for different countries, we will always send the version suitable for the country where the winner resides. We will make decision based on the shipping address the user has provided us with.
How can I improve my chances of winning?
• Don’t place your bids randomly on different auctions. Choose one item you’re interested in and stick to it.
• High priced items are more attractive but also have more bidders. If you choose lower value items for your first auction will increase your chances of winning.
• Learn how the AutoBidder works and use it to your advantage.
What is a AutoBidder?
The AutoBidder is useful to place bids even when you’re away from your computer. Simply set the starting price and how many bids you want AutoBidder to make for you. It won’t stop before you have won the auction or until it has used up all the bids you have set.
What is a Fixed Price Auction?
A Fixed Price Auction differs in that the end price will never change. The timer works in the same way as other auctions- with time added with each bid- but the final price is set and will not change.
What is a Peak Auction?
A peak auction runs only during day time hours (11:00AEST to 23:00AEST) until the auction is won. During the remaining hours the Auction will be on pause.
Can I get a refund for unused bids?
Purchased bids are not refundable.
Can I cancel submitted bids?
Submitted bids cannot be cancelled.
What time is shown on PlanetBid’s clock?
It’s PlanetBid’s server time. It’s set to AEST but might be slightly different from your computer time.
